The American International Choral Festival
November 17-21, 2010
For the first time on American soil a festival is introduced that combines the best of the US and the international festival traditions. Thousands of singers representing more than 50 choirs from around the world will delight audiences in St. Louis at the American International Choral Festival from November 17-21, 2010.
During five days there will be a host of activities, including opening and closing ceremonies, free public performances and ticketed concerts. The entire community will be thrilled at the beautiful, harmonic sounds, costumes, choreography and most of all, unbridled energy as the choirs perform and compete for top prizes.
A variety of adult and children's choirs singing a broad spectrum of music (jazz, classical, barbershop, folk etc.) will perform at such venues in St. Louis City and County as Powell Hall, The Sheldon Concert Hall, Edison Theatre at Washington University, Christ Church Cathedral, Touhill Performing Arts Center and many more.
Choirs are welcome to participate in the competitions, but can also take part in the festival without competing. All choirs are welcome, from semi-professional to amateur choirs.
The Regional Arts Commission of St. Louis, the St. Louis Convention & Visitors Commission and the American Choral Director's Association are partnering to sponsor the festival produced by Interkultur Federation in North America.
