Successful candidate is expected to have the expertise in Truckload, Less than Truckload, and Bulk shipments in a manufacturing environment. Experience in negotiating contracts in Rail, Barge, Air Freight and Ocean would be considered an advantage. Successful candidate is also expected to be knowledgeable about strategic sourcing of logistics services, including the use of RFX tools and be an expert on the industry. This includes a strong understanding of the potential supply base and the elements of competitiveness.Required SkillsMajor Responsibilities/ Accountabilities Accountable for procuring inbound and outbound transportation for North America, primarily Truckload, LTL and Bulk shipments. Additional duties may include warehousing logistics, and other area as required. Responsible for conducting RFI, RFP via the RFx tool along with bid response analysis, optimization and scenario analysis. Responsible for maintaining expertise for logistics market place and trends to insure optimal rates and best practices. Accountable for developing and implementing carrier management strategies with business units that are consistent with corporate objectives. Accountable for insuring that all contracts are kept up to date and that accurate pricing information is maintained and available for other areas for invoice rating and price quotation. Responsible for having knowledge of transportation regulations for shipment of hazardous and non hazardous goods. Manage cost improvement programs and tracking cost savings for area of responsibility. Required ExperienceJob Qualifications: Bachelor degree required - business or technical background. MBA a plus. Minimum of 3-5 years experience in Transportation management, Supply chain management or Transportation sourcing A demonstrated ability to build relationships, and think strategically and systemically. Proficiency in communication, negotiations and project management Technical proficiency in Excel, Access, and Power Point and Word.
